The Stuttgart artist group Filderbahnfreundemöhringen FFM has been causing surprises in the exhibition scene since its founding in 1999 with concepts that are as radical as they are humorous. In their exploration of materials, spaces, titles, and animals, the FFM move consciously and yet effortlessly on the double ground between superficiality and profundity. They exhaust wordplays, confirm clichés, and subvert role attributions. Whether curators or exhibition visitors, mothers or politicians, sheep, pigs, mice, or maggots, no one can be sure of their position. Between potential slapstick and collateral real satire, between confusion and insight, much is possible and gladly also impossible.
